BlizzCon 2011: The 4 Most Important Announcements

You probably don't want to find out about Blizzard now, what with Battlefield 3 merchant vessels to stores and debut tonight, thusly here's the Cliff's Notes adaptation of what went down at BlizzCon 2011 this weekend.

Blizzard declared it was giving Diablo III away for free. Well, "free" in the twofer sense. You can have Diablo III gratis, cheerio as you sign on up for a year's subscription to World of Warcraft, or what Blizzard calls its WoW Annual Drop dead. To participate, you also have to have registered a full version of World of Warcraft along or before October 18, 2011 (sorry newcomers, or should I allege latecomers). You'll also have to complete your one-year term to keep Diablo III free and clear—cancel ahead, and your privileges testament be revoked (yep, Diablo Trio requires you be online to play, something 66% of 1,037 masses aforementioned they were "furious" about in our online pollard).

Kung Fu Panda 3 volition be a World of Warcraft expansion. Non really, but just face at this matter. I fully expect DreamWorks and Activision Blizzard to come to blows. In the meantime, yes, information technology's an expansion—the game's fourth—with pandas (and yes, we've known roughly it for months). Dislocation: new level cap of 90, a new monk sort out, and the game's initiative "neutral" race, the pandaren, which means they'll embody playable as either Horde or Alliance.

Meet Rash DOTA. That's "Defense of the Ancients," for the naive. DOTA was a squad-based Warcraft III mod that went viral, and now it's too an semiofficial StarCraft II mod starring Blizzard's just about best-selling characters, e.g. Thrall, Arthos, the Queen of Blades, Muradin, etcetera. If you're woolly, the video below reveals all.

The preposterously beautiful StarCraft II: Heart of Swarm teaser trailer. It's just a glimpse of what's coming, probably sometime future spring, merely Snowstorm claims IT's "cinematic…footage rendered whole within the StarCraft 2 game engine." Truly, for that reason unparalleled, you'll desire to get a load at this matter.
